Humble Beginnings
Sim Soon Heng Cooking Ingredients was registered as a company in 1978. The founders, Mr & Mrs Sim, fondly known as Tau Kay & Tau Kay Nio to their loyal customers, displayed the enterprising spirit of entrepreneurs as early as the 1960’s.
As the pioneer generation, they started with door-to-door peddling of soya sauce, and laid the foundation of what would become a flourishing business. Over time, their portfolio expanded to include a wide array of products, including different chilli sauces, pastes, and various condiments.

Mr David Sim and his wife, Winlin.

David's passion for sauce craftmanship started at a young age. Still a student then, he seized the opportunity to apprentice under a chilli grand-master, alongside Mrs Sim. Together, they experimented and created their first blended chilli paste which has since become the ‘Hero Product’ of SSH!
Mr David Sim's passionate quest for quality sauces continued through the years. He is the mastermind behind SSH's premium Chilli Crab Sauce, perfecting it through countless taste tests to achieve the rich and aromatic flavours of this favourite Singapore dish!

In December 2024, we are invited to set up our booth at World Christmas Market.

Starting March 2025, we are running roadshows and setting up our booths at shopping malls, office towers, SAFRA clubs, and more locations.

Going into 2026, SSH Catering was introduced! We offer mini buffets and full catering for corporate events, birthdays, and small gatherings.

Our live station was created in response to customer demand. We delivered it and received great feedback!
